We are getting super close to the first workout posting (Monday June 4th) so I figure it's time to clue everyone in on the details of the program.
Here is how it's all going to go down.... you are gonna work your butt off (literally) for about 20 minutes, you will then feel great and start seeing results.....end of story.........For those of you who would like more detail than this let me break it down for you.
Every Monday I will be posting a workout print off as well as a video. This video will have instructions for each of the moves as well as their modifications so people of every fitness level can participate. The workouts will consist of high intensity total body movements which will challenge your muscles while delivering a killer cardio workout and sending your metabolism through the roof! The "main set" will be 11 to 12 minutes long and will be made up of several different movements with designated repetitions such as 10, 15 or 20 (your gonna see 20 reps A LOT). Your goal is to get through as many sets as possible in the allotted time frame. After the main set is over, if you've had enough you can stop there ( because of the nature of these workouts, believe it or not, 11 minutes is still enough to get results) But for those of you who would like to push yourselves and your results there is a minute rest and then 1 to 2 "mini sets" which often work with free weights and tend to target the stubborn problem areas like arms, but and abs! This workout should be done EVERYDAY, no excuses (everyone can find 11 to 20 minutes a day) Your goal is to improve upon how many sets you can get through from Monday til the end of the week, or go from a modified move to doing the advanced, either way the goal is to push yourself to your maximum and I promise that if you do, you will not only begin to feel great you will look great as well.
Now the reason this program is not JUST the fitness videos is because diet is really the biggest part of losing weight and getting fit. You can literally eat your way out of any workout. Let me phrase that another way, you can exercise all you want but, if you are not watching what you eat then do not expect amazing results. If you want to lose weight, if you want to see awesome results then you have to commit to eating right and eating healthy. Think of it this way, if you have a car which only takes unleaded fuel what happens to it if you put diesel in the tank? Your vehicle will not run correctly and if you force it to drive with fuel that is not meant for it, you will break your car. Our bodies are the same way, don't expect to get very far if you are not putting the correct fuel into your body. This is why I will be sharing recipes and healthy eating tips continually throughout the program and I will always be willing to answer questions via Facebook or through this blog and email.
This is a lifestyle change, true health and fitness with long lasting results comes from consistency, both in your exercising as well as your eating habits. I will go more into depth about this subject in the first Healthy Eating post next week.
So that is it for the most part, things will be progressing and developing as we go but I want to put this out there now, that this blog is a community blog where your questions and opinions are welcomed. We can all support and lift one another and help each other reach goals. I have enabled posts on the Facebook page so anyone can comment, leave feedback or advice. That is the beauty of this, we all have knowledge which is worth sharing and listening to. I never want someone to feel like they are just a number or an unknown, we are in this together and you have a place here.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and help you reach goals and get healthy. I am excited for myself as well to have all of you there to push me with my own goals and aspirations.
Only 5 Days left till we get crazy around here, it is gonna be great!!!!
****Don't forget now is the time to be taking some before pictures. Once we get going I will be continually asking for peoples before and after pictures along with stories and with their permission will post them here on the blog to help inspire everyone else out there. ******
So excited for this, I'll definitely be participating!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, I just had baby #3 and am ready to get my booty in gear:)
ReplyDeleteWhat equipment/supplies will we need for the workouts (yoga mat, weights, etc)
Savannah
Great question Savannah, it varies a little with each weekly workout but the most you will ever need is a pair of free hand weights, a chair and a positive attitude!
ReplyDeleteBree,
ReplyDeleteI am planning on starting this on Friday since I just found your You Tube videos. So I will be a week behind. Excited about this! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
